As a result of winning the Grand Prize, in the AMC “Mad Men” Video Audition Contest, I have gotten some really great press attention, but I think my favorite so far has to be the feature in Glamour.com’s “The Girls in the Beauty Department: Daily Beauty Blog! This was a super adorable, “Mad Men” themed style feature, written by Petra Gugliemetti and they used yours truly to show it off. I love clothes, I love make-up, I love magazines, and I love the whole 1950’s/60’s, so this was quite a treat:)

So, about a month ago I was a guest on this fun web based talk show, called “Bar Social.” The premise of the show is “Bad Dates, Great Stories.” Pretty self explanatory. It’s a great concept, and I think I had a good, “bad date”, story to share.

Series creator of “Mad Men,” Matthew Weiner made the final decision and chose Morgan Elizabeth Cox to appear as a walk-on role, sometime in season 4 of the show! “You’re really drunk.”
You:
“No, I mean it. You should do stand-up. You say funny things(passes out at the bar).”

“Okay. You asked for it.”

A few weeks ago, I was invited to be a guest on the Portland, Oregon talk show “Keep it Local.” It was a great experience. There were a few “technical difficulties,” but despite it all, the interview was a lot of fun and for this struggling actress, a bit of positive press is always welcome. You can view my segment HERE!
As a result of the “Mad Men” Video Contest win, Morgan has been getting some fun attention from the press! A Portland, Oregon native, herself, Morgan Elizabeth Cox was featured in “The Oregonian.” The article was a spotlight in the entertainment section of the Portland newspaper, and on the front page of the section, no less. Peter Ames Carlin wrote a fantastic article, about the struggling, yet positive and motivated, actress. You can read the article at OregonLive.com! Here is a quote from the piece:
“I just thought, ‘How amazing to have him(series creator, Matthew Weiner) even look at my work,’” Cox said. “I had a camera built into my MacBook and had everything else I needed right there. So I thought, ‘Why not do it?”
Cox chose a monologue of Bobbie Barrett’s, a particularly willful character from the second season (“I really love playing direct and condescending, powerful females”), mastered the speech and went to her closet for the appropriate early 1960s-era clothes…”
