Let’s see, I’ve been in Portland now for a little over three months and I am still giddy each morning, knowing that this is now my home. Truly. A lot has been going on. I’ve been auditioning quite a bit, which has been wonderful. Well, it’s always a bit nerve-wracking(you know, being a necessary evil and everything), but having new opportunities is exciting and something I am very thankful for.
Speaking of being thankful…I booked some amazing voice over work! Unfortunately, I can’t talk much about it in detail(signed confidentiality contracts and all that good stuff), but I will say it is a big deal and I am so happy to have gotten the opportunity/door opened on this one! It was quite a challenge, but I loved every minute. The project will not be released until Winter 2011. I would love to do more of this and hopefully having booked this work will get me in some more VO doors. Here is a clip of some animated VO work I did in LA, a few years ago: VO
Here’s to Portland
I have not updated in a while, but my life has been going through some crazy wonderful changes. About four weeks ago I was offered a job in Portland, Oregon, as an assistant with an animation company…and I accepted! I then proceeded, within a matter of 9 days, to sell all of my furniture, pack up my car, move out of my apartment and make my way to Portland, Oregon. I arrived on a Sunday afternoon, managed to squeeze in an Oscar party at my lovely friend Claire’s house, and started work on Monday. This is one of the best decisions I have made in a long time. I am so content…with moments of true happiness.
When I was in Portland, back in January(to perform in a play), my cousin Meg Perotti, a photographer, visited with her husband and took some great photos. I thought I would share a few with you. Here is a direct link to her blog where you can check out more of her amazing work; Meg Perotti Photography Blog
I am so thrilled to be part of the 3rd annual Fertile Ground Festival of New Work, in Portland, Oregon, in the New Year! I was cast as one of the leads in a new play, “That Was the River, This Is the Sea”, by Claire Willet and Gilberto del Campo. I am reading the part of Rose, January 24th – January 28th, at The Art Department.
*Bit of history: Claire and I both attended Saint Mary’s Academy, in Portland. Graduated the class of 1999. We were both involved in the theatre department, and even performed in a few shows together! Facebook connected us, once again, and led to this amazing opportunity. Thank you, Social Networking! And thank you, Claire, for letting me bring Rose to life.

Along with her talents as an actress, Morgan is also a funny lady. She often has humorous insights about stuff. Morgan has created a little blog called LIFE OF MORGAN. For your entertainment, Morgan’s comments on life, love and…other stuff. Be a follower and fan. She’ll make you laugh:
I am so excited! A few months ago I read these “Dating Tips,” and I could not help but be amused at the thought of putting them into action. They were just so…ridiculous. Needless to say, since the thought of myself(or anyone, for that matter) actually acting these out made me laugh, I decided to make a funny video.
Check out the Glamour.com feature and watch my video via FunnyorDie.com. Make sure to rate it “Funny!”
I took this great voiceover workshop and it culminated in a booth session. I am pretty happy with some of the samples I ended up with, and here they are:)
Okay, so I have finally put together an edit of dramatic film clips. It’s short, which I am discovering is the best, just over one minute in length. I like the quality of acting work that is on here, however the burning process beat the footage up a bit! I want to work out those kinks, but here it is, nonetheless.
I have finally got a short and sweet acting reel put together. It is comedic, and includes some improv, as well. A dramatic reel is in the works, so stay tuned!
Thank you to all who continue to believe in and support me! It means the world.
This is a deleted scene, from a mockumentary I filmed a few months back, called “Glass Half Full: The Jon Hovac Story.” It is about fictional “Vodka King,” Jon Hovac. I was cast as British author, Samantha Nugent.
They let the cameras roll, and sent me off in %100 improv land. Which was beautiful. Enjoy.
